The marking (11) comprises edge markings (12) of the two edges (13) of the seat belt (10), and the marking (11) has a marking (11, 16) that is asymmetric with respect to the longitudinal axis (14) of the seat belt (10). The invention also relates to a detection system (20) for detecting a use state of a corresponding seat belt (10).
