Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a battery pack comprising a plurality of battery cells, and an enclosure, wherein the plurality of battery cells are arranged on top of a horizontal component, preferably in form of a plate and that the horizontal component is spaced apart from the enclosure by at least one spacer element, said at least one spacer element providing at least one hot stream channel for evacuating hot gases during thermal runaway. In addition said spacer element can act as mechanical energy dissipator/absorber in case of crush with external impactor.
