Zusammenfassung: | Techniques for performing an emissions demand response event are described. In an example, a cloud-based HVAC control server system obtains a first emissions rate forecast. The cloud-based HVAC control server system generates an emissions demand response (EDR) event based on the first emissions rate forecast, the EDR event comprising a start time and an end time. Prior to the start time, the cloud-based HVAC control server system transmits the generated EDR event over a data network to a thermostat located in a structure remote from the cloud-based HVAC control server system. The thermostat stores the EDR event in a memory of the thermostat and commences, at said start time, control of an HVAC system according to the generated EDR event. Subsequent to said start time and prior to said end time, the cloud-based HVAC control server system obtains a second emissions rate forecast and generates, subsequent to obtaining said second emissions rate forecast and prior to said end time, a modified EDR event, the modified EDR event comprising a modified end time. The cloud-based HVAC control server system transmits, at a time prior to an earlier of the end time and the modified end time, the modified EDR event to the thermostat. Upon receiving the modified EDR event by the thermostat, the thermostat stores said modified EDR event in its memory and controls the HVAC system according to the modified EDR event until said modified end time is reached. |
