Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an electromagnetic actuator comprising a coil assembly with at least one coil core and a coil which is arranged about the circumference of the coil core, a housing comprising a magnetic material and a rotationally symmetrical receiving chamber in which the coil assembly is at least partly received, and a movable magnetic armature body as a movable actuator element which can be moved by a magnetic field generated by the coil assembly, wherein the armature body is supported relative to the housing on one face by means of a bearing and can be moved along a bearing rotational axis from a first position into a second position. The armature body has a disc-like design and a symmetrical shape with respect to an axis of symmetry which lies on the disc plane and runs transversely to the bearing rotational axis, and the armature body has a first longest extension between opposite ends of the armature body in the direction of the axis of symmetry and a second longest extension between opposite ends of the armature body in the direction of the bearing rotational axis, said second longest extension being shorter than the first longest extension.
