The diamond tool (100, 50) includes a shank (100, 110, 210, 52), a segment (120, 54), and an abrasion preventing part. The shank (100, 110, 210, 52) has a throughhole (53) through which grinding powder generated during processing the workpiece by the processing apparatus is discharged outside. The segment (120, 54) is bonded to an end portion of the shank (100, 110, 210, 52). The segment (120, 54) contacts and processes the workpiece. The abrasion preventing part is disposed on an adjacent portion among an outer surface of the shank (100, 110, 210, 52) adjacent to the throughhole (53) to prevent abrasion of the outer surface during the processing of the workpiece.
