METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING INFORMATION FOR PROVIDING PLURALITY OF COMMUNICATION SERVICES

The disclosure relates to a communication technique that fuses IoT technology with a 5G communication system to support a higher data rate than a 4G system. It can be applied to intelligent services on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT related technology.A method of operating a user equipment, UE, for communication in a mobile communication system is provided, the method comprising:receiving, from a base station, configuration information for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ);receiving, from the base station, data including a transport block (TB) including a plurality of code blocks (CB) ;decoding the TB;based on the configuration information for HARQ, determining whether to perform TB-based feedback or CB-based feedback on data received from the base station; andif it is determined that the CB-based feedback is to be performed, transmitting, to the base station, information including result of the decoding of each of the plurality of the CBs.A corresponding method of operating a base station, a base station and a UE are also provided.
