STAND-ALONE APPLIANCE FOR A COOKING HOB COMPRISING A HANDLE, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A STAND-ALONE APPLIANCE

The invention relates to a stand-alone appliance (2) for a cooking hob, said appliance comprising: at least one handle (4) having a gripping portion (6) with at least one gripping region (8) that is integrated in the handle (4), allowing a user to grip the stand-alone appliance (2) with a hand (10); a controller; and a transmitting unit connected to the controller in a signal-transmitting manner for transmitting signals from the stand-alone appliance (2) to the cooking hob, the gripping region (8) having at least one touch sensor (11, 12), that is connected to the controller in a signal-transmitting manner, for detecting when the handle (4) is gripped, characterised in that the touch sensor (11, 12) is designed to substantially simultaneously detect a force and a position of at least one finger (14, 16, 18) of the hand (10), wherein, depending on an output signal of the touch sensor (11, 12), an output unit of the stand-alone appliance, which output unit is connected to the control in a signal-transmitting manner, and/or the transmitting unit for controlling the hob can be/is controlled. The invention also relates to a method for operating a stand-alone appliance (2).
