LOCAL DATA TRANSMISSION FOR AN ARTIFICIAL REALITY EXPERIENCE

A computer-implemented method for local data transmission may include determining that data being requested from a remote server by a plurality of artificial reality devices in a shared physical location includes the same data and, in response to determining that the plurality of artificial reality devices are requesting the same data, (i) preventing downloading of the data from the remote server by a set of artificial reality devices within the plurality that excludes a designated artificial reality device, (ii) downloading, by the designated artificial reality device, the data from the remote server, and (iii) transmitting the data from the designated artificial reality device to the set of artificial reality devices via a local data transfer method enabled by the plurality of artificial reality devices being in the shared physical location.
