Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a method (10) for assessing uncertainty of a clinical metric relating to a physiological state of a subject (200), the method (10) comprising: obtaining one or more physiological signals (102) relating to a physiological state of a subject (200); processing the one or more physiological signals (102) to determine a clinical metric by using two or more processing paths each comprising two or more processing steps, wherein the two or more processing paths differ from each other by at least one different processing step, each providing an intermediate output of the same type in the respective processing paths; assessing the uncertainty of the determined clinical metric by comparing the intermediate outputs of the same type and determining the extent of difference between them; and outputting the determined clinical metric and the assessed uncertainty of the determined clinical metric.
