Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to an X-ray imaging system failure detection apparatus. A transceiver system is configured to be located relative to a component (50) of the X-ray imaging system (60). The transceiver system is configured to emit RF radiation. The transceiver system is configured to irradiate at least one part of the component with first RF radiation that is at least a portion of the emitted RF radiation. The transceiver system is configured to collect second RF radiation, wherein the second RF radiation is at least a portion of the first RF radiation that is reflected and/or transmitted by the component. The transceiver system is configured to provide the analyser with data indicative of the second RF radiation. An analyser is configured to determine that the component has a fault or is developing a fault using the data indicative of the second RF radiation. The output unit is configured to output information that the component has a fault or is developing a fault upon the determination by the analyser that the component has a fault or is developing a fault.
