Zusammenfassung:An aircraft includes a communication system having a node (300) and includes a method of operating the aircraft with the communication system. The communication system includes a waveguide (320) and the node (300). The node (300) is located in a high temperature environment. The node (300) includes a high temperature logic circuit (302), a power supply (306), wherein the high temperature logic circuit (302) and the power supply (306) are disposed on a first side of the node (300) in a high temperature environment, and a transponder (304) disposed on a second side of the node (300). A sensor (312, 314) and/or an actuator (314) can be operated via communication with the node via the waveguide (320).
