METHOD FOR OBTAINING AN ALKANOIC ACID

The invention relates to a method for obtaining an alkanoic acid, wherein molecular oxygen, a solid biogenic material and a solution of a catalyst are used in a catalytic reaction, wherein the catalyst is a polyoxometallate ion, a VO2+ containing salt, a [VO3]- containing salt, a vanadium phosphate, a vanadium pentoxide, an ammonium iron sulfate, a copper sulfate or a nickel sulfate, wherein the biogenic material is insoluble in the solution of the catalyst, wherein the method comprises providing the molecular oxygen, the biogenic material and the solution of the catalyst and forming a triphasic composition by bringing into contact the biogenic material, the solution of the catalyst and the molecular oxygen.
