Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method (S1-S10) which is used to operate at least one individually temperature-regulatable temperature zone (2, 4) of a refrigerator (K), in particular a domestic refrigerator. According to the method, one temperature (Tfridge,meas, Tfreezer,meas) of the temperature zone (2, 4) is measured (S1, S5); one temperature (Tfridge,calc, Tfreezer,calc) of the temperature zone (2, 4) is calculated (S4) using a physical model (M) of the refrigerator (K), said physical model describing the thermal behavior of the temperature zone (2, 4) without taking into consideration user-side actions; a deviation (Δ) between at least one temperature (Tfridge,meas, Tfreezer,meas) which is measured and at least one temperature (Tfridge,calc, Tfreezer,calc) which is calculated at the same time is determined (S5); and the value of the deviation (Δ) is used to automatically decide (S6) whether a super cooling mode is switched on (S10) for the temperature zone (2, 4). The invention also relates to a refrigerator (K), in particular a domestic refrigerator which is designed to carry out the method (S1-S10). The invention is in particular advantageously usable on domestic refrigerators with a freezer section as the temperature zone.
