Zusammenfassung:	To provide an apparatus for evaporating hypochlorous acid (HOCI) with which a stable and spatially homogeneous concentration of HOCI in ambient air, in particular in room air, can be adjusted and which prevents corrosive salts to be dispersed into the ambient air, an apparatus (100) for evaporating hypochlorous acid (HOCI), comprising a housing (10), a container (11) for an aqueous HOCI solution (17), and preferably a fan (12), is proposed, wherein the apparatus further comprises a substrate (13) with a high surface-to-volume ratio arranged to receive or to be wetted by an HOCI solution (17) from the container (11) during operation of the apparatus (100).
