Several wireless devices can be grouped together according to location, capabilities and/or measurements. A master node can be assigned to perform initiate a sidelink ranging procedure for the group. The master node can transmit ranging request(s) and receive ranging response(s) to calculate a range for one or more wireless devices in the group.
