An electronic device is provided, including a first communication module including a first radio frequency (RF) transceiver and a second RF transceiver; and a controller configured to control an operation of the first communication module. The controller identifies at least one network supporting an emergency call, performs a first registration procedure using the first RF transceiver with respect to first frequency bands among a plurality of frequency bands available in the at least one network, according to a first priority, performs a second registration procedure using the second RF transceiver with respect to second frequency bands among the plurality of frequency bands, according to the first priority, and transmits the emergency call using a frequency band first identified as being capable of transmitting the emergency call through the first and second registration procedures based on the first priority among the first frequency bands and the second frequency bands.
