AGRICULTURAL MACHINE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING SUCH

An agricultural machine (100) is disclosed. The agricultural machine comprising: a furrow opener (120) configured to open a furrow in soil; a seed metering system (114, 116) providing seed to a seed delivering system (116), the seed delivery system (116) providing seed to the furrow; a furrow closing system (124) that engages the soil to close the furrow; a soil sensor (142, 148, 150) sensing a characteristic of the soil and generating a soil sensor signal that has a value responsive to the characteristic of the soil; and a furrow closing system controller (98) that receives the soil sensor signal and that generates a closing system control signal to control the furrow closing system (124) based on the soil sensor signal. Further, a method of controlling such agricultural machine is disclosed.
