Zusammenfassung:The present disclosure provides an efficient hardware architecture compliant with a 5G compliant radio access network (RAN) architecture. A combined centralized unit and a distributed unit (CCDU) is utilized for processing Level 1, 2, and 3 scheduling in a network. The CCDU design integrates the functionality of a centralized unit (CU) and a distributed unit (DU) and operates over a wide temperature range. A single CCDU is integrated with a 5G-NR MRU (5G-new radio multi-rat radio unit) and functions as the CU, DU to provide an improved radio performance based a coordination again observed across a coverage area. Further, the CCDU provides a low cost, power efficient solution that can be easily deployed on tower sites server racks.
