METHOD FOR DETERMINING COMMON TA, AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

Embodiments of this application provide a common timing advance TA determining method and a communication apparatus, and relate to the field of communication technologies. After determining a first message, a satellite may transmit the first message to a terminal device. The first message includes a parameter of a common TA function, the parameter of the common TA function is preconfigured, and the parameter of the TA function one-to-one corresponds to a time period. After obtaining the first message, the terminal device may determine a common TA based on the parameter of the common TA function. After determining the common TA, the terminal device may perform timing advance adjustment, to implement synchronous communication between the terminal device and the satellite. In this application, the parameter of the common TA function is preconfigured, one-to-one corresponds to the time period, and is not determined through real-time calculation. Updating of the parameter of the common TA function is also associated with the time period. A longer update period indicates lower signaling overheads. In addition, data processing efficiency can be improved by performing synchronization according to the common TA determining method.
