Zusammenfassung:A dryer (1) for drying boards to be conveyed through the dryer (1) in a plurality of fields (2) extending one after the other in the longitudinal direction and each having a plurality of levels with use of a heating medium at a temperature below 130°C is characterised in that the boards are heatable in one field or in a first plurality of fields to a temperature below 130°C, during the drying process in a first zone (3) in the longitudinal direction and in the conveying direction of the plates, by warm air generated by a first heater and flowing through between the levels, and in that the air, after having absorbed moisture from the boards, can be guided out from the dryer (1) through at least one first heat exchanger (5) counter to the transport direction.
