ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING BIOMETRIC SIGNAL-BASED OPERATION, AND OPERATING METHOD THEREFOR

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device comprises a camera and at least one processor, and can be configured to: extract at least one face region and at least one hand region from an image captured by a camera; acquire a biometric signal from each of the extracted at least one face region and hand region; match the face region and the hand region within the image by using the acquired biometric signals; identify a user by performing face recognition on the image while the biometric signals are acquired; and identify, on the basis of the biometric signals in the face region and matched hand region for the identified user, a command for controlling the operation of the electronic device.
