Zusammenfassung:	The invention pertains to a fuel system (11) for a ship (1), the fuel system (11) comprising:- a fuel supply system (10);- an access protection device (51, 52, 53) for providing protected access to the fuel or to an element of the fuel supply system (10), the access protection device having a protected condition and an unprotected condition; and- an integrity monitoring system (40), the integrity monitoring system (40) including a controller (49) and a sensor (41, 42, 43) connected to the controller (49),wherein the sensor (41, 42, 43) is configured to generate a detection signal representative of an actual condition of the access protection device (51, 52, 53), and wherein the controller (49) is configured to send a notification in response to a change of the detection signal indicating a change of the actual condition of the access protection device (51, 52, 53) from the protected condition towards the unprotected condition.
