Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a device and a method for manual search through direct communication in an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a first communication circuit, a second communication circuit, and at least one processor, wherein the processor searches for a network related to a cellular network through the first communication circuit on the basis of an input related to a PLMN search detected through an input device, acquires, on the basis of the input, network information about at least one external electronic device through direct communication using the second communication circuit, generates a network list on the basis of the network search result and/or network information about the at least one external electronic device, and can output information related to the network list.
