FILTER

Filter 1 for removing airborne particles comprising housing 2, air inlet 3, air outlet 4 deflecting means 5a-f within the housing for directing dynamic airflow, and at least one adhesive layer 8. In operation, airflow is directed from the air inlet to the outlet via the adhesive layer to which airborne particles can stick. The air deflecting means and adhesive layer may be contained within an insert that can be placed into a housing adapted to contain it. The adhesive layer may comprise a glue, cement, paste, mucilage or manuka® honey. The deflecting means may comprise a convoluted flow path between the air inlet and outlet. This convoluted flow path may be an arrangement of undulating ridges made of co-aligned surfaces. Along the flow path there may be one or more be concave troughs for receiving the adhesive layer. The filter may have a mask attached to it.
