Zusammenfassung:A position detection device includes a motor that rotates a drive target, a periodic sensor that detects a periodic change generated by the rotation of the motor to output a waveform signal having a plurality of periods, and a controller that controls the rotation of the motor. The controller obtains a rotation angle reference line indicating a change in a cumulative rotation angle of the motor based on the waveform signal output from the periodic sensor, and corrects the waveform signal based on a partial waveform signal which is a part of the waveform signal and the rotation angle reference line.
