Zusammenfassung:	This disclosure provides a method of treating cancer or a blood disorder disease in a patient, the method comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a combination of compounds comprising (1) a hypomethylating agent (HMA) and (2) an XPO1 inhibitor to a patient. The XPO1 inhibitor can be Valtrate or Caffeic acid phenyl ester (CAPE) or salt, hydrate or derivative thereof. Cancers that may be treated with this method include acute myeloid leukemia (AML) particularly leukemias in which a MLL mutation is present or one or both of an NPM1 mutation and an FLT3 mutation is present.
