Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed are a display device and an operation method thereof. The disclosed display device comprises: memory in which one or more instructions are stored; and a processor for executing the one or more instructions stored in the memory. By executing the one or more instructions, the processor: receives an input image; acquires luminance information from the input image; acquires perceived luminance information on the basis of the luminance information; predicts scene intensity information that indicates the level of side effects generated after first image quality processing of the input image; and performs the first image quality processing of the input image on the basis of the scene intensity information and the perceived luminance information.
