Zusammenfassung:A surgical robotic system is provided for use in an ocular surgical procedure. The system comprises a surgical arm (080) comprising a movable arm part (082), which comprises an instrument connector for mounting of a surgical instrument (119) having a longitudinal axis. The movable arm part (082) has at least one degree of freedom to enable longitudinal movement of the surgical instrument (119) along its longitudinal axis, towards or away from an ocular surgical target (123). The system comprises a sensor (030), user interface (020), actuator (060) and processor subsystem (040). The processor subsystem (040) is configured to obtain sensor data (032) from the sensor (030) at an initial position of the surgical instrument (119), determine an initial distance between the surgical instrument (119) and the surgical target (123), obtain data indicating a target position of the surgical instrument (119), determine a displacement distance, output a sensory-perceptible representation of the displacement distance, receive a confirmation signal from the user, and upon receiving the confirmation signal, control the actuator (060) to actuate the movable arm part (082) to effect a single movement of the surgical instrument (119) over the displacement distance.
