Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to various methods for manufacturing a magnetic stripe (5) on a card element (2) of a card-like data carrier (1). These methods comprise applying at least a portion (4a) of a magnetic stripe material layer (4) onto a card element surface (3) of the card element (2) using different techniques. The application of the portion (4a) of the magnetic stripe material layer (4) onto the card element surface (3) generates a magnetic stripe (5) on the card element surface (3) such that the magnetic stripe (5) has a stripe length (L1) that is less than a length (L2) of the card element surface (3) and has a stripe width (Bi) that is less than a width (B2) of the card element surface (3).
