Zusammenfassung:A method for inspecting surfaces is provided and in particular surfaces of motor vehicles having effect pigments, wherein radiation is irradiated by means of a first radiation device onto a surface to be inspected at a first predetermined radiation angle and wherein a color image recording device records a spatially resolved image of the surface irradiated by the radiation direction at a first observation angle, wherein this image recording device has a first predetermined sensitivity (F(λ)) which is dependent on a wavelength of the radiation impinging the image recording device and which differs from a second predetermined sensitivity (X(λ)) which is dependent on a wavelength of the radiation impinging on the human eye, characterized in that differences between the first sensitivity (F(λ)) and the second sensitivity (X(λ)) are at least partially compensated for by means of a filter device.
