One embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a foldable electronic device for improving opening convenience, and a control method therefor. According to one embodiment, a foldable electronic device may comprise: a hinge structure; a first housing connected to the hinge structure; a second housing, which is connected to the hinge structure and is foldable, with the hinge structure as the center thereof, with respect to the first housing; a foldable display disposed on one surface of the first housing and one surface of the second housing; a first magnetic body, which is disposed at a position adjacent to one edge of the first housing and includes a magnetic body arranged in the longitudinal direction of the first housing; and a second magnetic body, which is disposed at a position adjacent to one edge of the second housing and at a position corresponding to the first magnetic body and includes a magnetic body arranged in the longitudinal direction of the second housing.
