Zusammenfassung: | There is disclosed provided a self-contained welfare cabin arranged to be powered by renewable energy. The welfare cabin comprises an energy store, typically in the form of batteries, and an electrical system having an alternating current (AC) circuit and a direct current (DC) circuit. An inverter is operatively connected to the energy store and configured to provide AC power to the AC circuit. Electrical appliances are operatively connected to the AC and DC circuits. A plurality of solar panels for renewable energy generation are operatively connected to the electrical system for charging the energy store. A controller arranged to control the supply of power to the appliances based on sensor readings such that the welfare cabin can be devoid of a combustion generator. Appliances are selectively denied power by the controller to preserve power based on occupancy sensors and/or settings applied using a remote device according to the instance of use of the welfare cabin. The inverter may be underrated and the controller may selectively deny power to electrical appliances according to a predetermined hierarchy such that the concurrent power demand is within the capacity of the inverter. The solar panels may be moveable or deployable to maximise the available area for solar generation, e.g. beyond the footprint of the welfare cabin. |
