Zusammenfassung:	An air turbine starter (100) for starting an engine (10), having a stator (145) including a housing (108, 122) having an inlet (110), an outlet (112), and a flow path (114) extending between the inlet (110) and the outlet (112) and a rotor (144) including a turbine member (116) defining a rotating axis and having a set of blades (120) at least partially disposed within the flow path (114). The air turbine starter (100) further including a bearing support structure (130) disposed between the rotor (144) and the stator (145) comprising a first bearing support (158) having a first stiffness (K1) and a second bearing support (160) having a second stiffness (K2).
