Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed herein are compositions that comprise at least one oxidized polysaccharide derivative. Such an oxidized polysaccharide derivative can be produced by contacting a polysaccharide derivative under aqueous conditions with at least one agent that is capable of oxidizing the polysaccharide derivative. The polysaccharide derivative for oxidation has a degree of substitution (DoS) up to about 3.0 with at least one organic group. Further disclosed are methods of producing oxidized polysaccharide derivatives, as well as their use in various applications and products.
