Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a method and a detection kit for the detection of pyrogens in a biological sample, in which immune cells, preferably the monocytic cell line THP-1 or THP-1 macrophages, are brought into contact with the sample, which may contain pyrogens, whereby the expression of immunomodulatory mediators takes place, wherein after lysis of the immune cells the nucleic acids of the immune cells are extracted and the expression of immunomodulatory mediators is detected by means of PCR. At least one of three different cytokines/chemokines, preferably IL-1β, TNFa or CXCL8/IL-8, are detected in parallel. The invention can be used for the detection of endotoxin and non-endotoxin pyrogenic contaminations in a medicinal sample. |
