Zusammenfassung:To provide a bipolar battery and a method of manufacturing the same capable of reliably preventing electrolytic solution leakage out of a cell by means of a simple seal structure. A bipolar battery (100) includes a plurality of cell members (150), each including a positive electrode (151) having a positive active material layer (103), a negative electrode (152) having a negative active material layer (104), and an electrolyte layer (105) interposed between the positive electrode (151) and the negative electrode (152), and a plurality of frame units (110), (120), (130) respectively forming a plurality of cells (160) respectively incorporating the plurality of cell members (150). Each of the plurality of frame units (110), (120), (130) is configured by a frame unit made of a light transmissive resin material. Two of the frame units made of a light transmissive resin material adjacent in a stacking direction of the cell members (150) are welded and joined via a joining member (141) made of a light absorbing resin material at a welded portion (140).
