The transparent section includes a base glass (232) having an inner surface (232a) located on an inside (202) of the helmet and an outer surface (232b) located on an outside (208) of the helmet, and a photochromatic transition glass (230). All or a portion, less than all, of the base glass is overlapped by the photochromatic transition glass. The helmet also includes a non-transparent section (220) located at a back (204) of the helmet.
