Zusammenfassung:A method of determining filter characteristics of a filter for filtering respective samples of a template area adjacent to a coding unit, CU, of a picture so as to obtain from the template area respective Intra Prediction Modes, IPMs, for deriving Decoder-side Intra Mode Derivation, DIMD, predictor for respective samples of the CU is described. The method includes determining a size and/or a position of a filtering window of the filter dependent on one or more characteristics of the CU and/or the template area, or from information data associated with the picture.
