METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SAMPLE ADAPTIVE OFFSET, DEVICE, AND MEDIUM

The present disclosure relates to the technical field of video processing, and in particular to the technical filed of video encoding and decoding. Provided are a method and apparatus for sample adaptive offset, a device, and a medium. The implementation solution is as follows: acquiring a sideband value and a residual error of each pixel in a target image; selecting a plurality of adjacent target pixels from the target image; and for the plurality of adjacent target pixels, executing the following sideband information calculation operations: acquiring a maximum sideband value and a minimum sideband value of the plurality of target pixels; determining a plurality of preset sideband values on the basis of the maximum sideband value and the minimum sideband value; calculating sideband information for the preset sideband value on the basis of the sideband values and the residual errors of the plurality of target pixels.
