Zusammenfassung:	A road vehicle has a vehicle battery at least comprising a first and a second battery module and a chassis comprising a first and a second elongate chassis beam, wherein the first and the second battery module are arranged on a respective outer surface of the first and second elongate chassis beam, respectively. A battery mounting system is present which for each of the first and second battery module comprises a front and a posterior bracket mounted to and projecting from the outer surface of the respective elongate chassis beam. The front and posterior brackets are spaced apart for receiving a battery box of the respective module and an elongated cross beam is connected between the front and posterior brackets of the first and second battery module on a respective side of the first and second elongate chassis beams. At least one of the elongated cross beams comprises a first inner chassis beam attachment portion for connecting the elongated cross beam to an inner side of the first elongate chassis beam and a second inner chassis beam attachment portion for connecting the elongated cross beam to an inner side of the second elongate chassis beam.
