Zusammenfassung:	There is provided a maintenance apparatus (50) for an image recording apparatus (10) provided with a head (42) having a nozzle (44) configured to discharge a liquid. The maintenance apparatus includes: a foam (52) configured to absorb the liquid discharged from the nozzle; an accommodating box (51) which does not have an upper surface and which is configured to accommodate the foam; and a plate (53) configured to cover an upper part of the accommodating box. The plate has an opening (58) configured to expose a part of an upper surface of the foam in a state that the plate is locked to the accommodating box.
