Zusammenfassung:	The present invention generally relates to a medical dressing (300) for prevention of pressure ulcers. The dressing (300) comprises a gel pad (304) having a low compressive strength; i.e. from 5 kPa to 60 kPa at a strain of 50%, as measured by the compression test described in the specification. The dressing (300) reduces the shear and compression forces on the skin and in the underlying the soft tissue layers and prevents or mitigates the onset of pressure ulcers. The dressing (300) comprises a backing layer (401) and an adhesive body contact layer (402); the gel pad (304) being arranged between the backing layer (401) and the body contact layer (402), and wherein the dressing (300) is substantially transparent.
