COMMUNICATION METHOD AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus, applied to a location management function network element. The method includes: sending a first message to an access and mobility management network element, where the first message includes first information associated with a terminal, and the first message indicates to perform location measurement on the terminal; and receiving a second message sent by the access and mobility management network element, where the second message includes second information associated with the terminal and location measurement information of the terminal. In the solution provided in this application, a message sent between the location management function network element and the access and mobility management network element carries information associated with the terminal. Therefore, the location management function network element can determine the terminal corresponding to the location measurement information received from the access and mobility management network element. In this way, when obtaining location measurement information of a terminal served by a base station, the LMF network element can concurrently perform location measurement on another terminal served by the base station.
