Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to an illumination device (10) for a motor vehicle headlight, said illumination device (10) comprising the following: - at least one lighting module (11) for generating a dipped beam light distribution, comprising at least one light source which is designed to emit light, - a beam diaphragm (20) with an optically relevant diaphragm edge for producing an asymmetrical light/dark boundary, wherein the lighting module (11) is arranged on an upper face of the beam diaphragm (20) when the illumination device (10) is installed in a motor vehicle headlight and interacts with the optically relevant diaphragm edge of the beam diaphragm (20) in order to generate a dipped beam light distribution, and - a projection lens (100) with an optical axis (B), said projection lens (100) being designed to image the light that can be generated by the lighting module in front of the illumination device (10) in a main emission direction. The projection lens (100) has a light inlet surface (110) and a convex light outlet surface (120) opposite the light Inlet surface (110), and the projection lens (100) comprises an optical device (200) which is arranged on the projection lens and which comprises a plurality of freeform lenses (210) with respective functional surfaces (211). The optical device is designed to deflect a part of the light entering the projection lens (100) and exiting via the functional surfaces of the freeform lenses onto a region above the asymmetrical light/dark boundary of the dipped beam light distribution. |
