Zusammenfassung:	System (100) and method for separating larvae. The larvae separation system (100) features a first separation chamber (110) and a second separation chamber (120). The first separation chamber (110) features a first classifier screen (112) with a plurality of openings of a first size and a first volume (114) which is at least partly delimited by the first classifier screen (112). The second separation chamber (120) is connected to the first chamber (110) and has a second volume (124). The first volume (114) and the second volume (124) are separated by the first classifier screen (112) of the first separation chamber (110) which has first light source (113) for selectively illuminating the first volume (114) for the purpose of motivating the passage of larvae contained in the first separation chamber (110) to the second separation chamber (120) through the first classifier screen (112).
