Zusammenfassung:	According to the present invention, an exhaust gas purification catalyst that has both a warming performance and a high load performance is provided. By the present invention, provided is the exhaust gas purification catalyst including a base material and a catalyst coated layer. The catalyst coated layer includes a former stage part and a latter stage part. An alumina content X1 in the former stage part per volume of the base material is not more than an alumina content X2 in the latter stage part per volume of the base material. A ratio (Y2/Y1) of a coating amount Y2 in the latter stage part per volume of the base material to a coating amount Y1 in the former stage part per volume of the base material satisfies 1.0 < (Y2/Y1) ≤ 2.0.
