The, or each, allocation valve (32) has four ports (34, 36) that are respectively fluidly connected to a respective pair of the pump modules (12) and to two of the hydraulic consumers (22). The, or each, allocation valve (32) is operable to connect each of its respective connected pump modules (12) to a respective one of the connected hydraulic consumers (22), or to connect both of its respective connected pump modules (12) to either one of the connected hydraulic consumers (22).
