Zusammenfassung:	In one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a thermal runaway protection film for a lithium ion battery, the film having a first major surface and a second major surface opposing the first major surface, the film comprising at least one protection layer comprising (a) at least one silicone and (b) at least one silicate compound and/or at least one silicon oxide compound; wherein component (b) is contained in the at least one protection layer in an amount of at least 40 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the at least one protection layer, wherein at least one major surface of the thermal runaway protection film exhibits adhesive properties.
