Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for regulating a stopper casting device (8) of a vacuum induction casting device (1), having the steps of detecting a molten bath level within a casting mold or an intermediate container or a casting distributor using at least one optical and/or acoustic measuring method and adjusting a stopper rod (26) of the stopper casting device (8) in at least one axis relative to a casting nozzle (9) on the basis of the height of the molten bath level, wherein the regulating process is carried out using a feedback of the actual position of the stopper rod (26), and at least one preferably inductive detection of the actual position of the stopper rod (26) is carried out under a vacuum and/or a protective gas atmosphere. The invention additionally relates to a device for carrying out the method.
