An electronic device, according to various embodiments, comprises: at least one temperature sensor; a memory; and at least one processor operatively connected to the at least one temperature sensor and the memory, wherein the memory may be configured to, when executed, cause the at least one processor to determine whether the electronic device is in a first heating state on the basis of a heating temperature of the electronic device obtained by means of the at least one temperature sensor, perform data processing in a first data processing rate range in the first heating state, check a first time period and/or the first data processing rate corresponding to a first designated event when the first specified event occurs during data processing in the first data processing rate range, perform data processing corresponding to the first specified event on the basis of the first time period and/or the first data processing rate, and perform data processing in the first data processing rate range on the basis of the expiration of the first time period or the end of data processing corresponding to the first specified event.
